    Three Rivers Petroglyph Site
    At Three Rivers Petroglyph Site, visitors can see the more than 20,000 individual carvings. The site is located in between Tularosa and Carrizozo off of US 54 on Three Rivers Road and also offers picnic shelters with barbeques and restrooms and trails to get to the rock art.

    Trinity Site

    In 1945, the first atomic bomb was tested at Trinity Site, located between Socorro and Carrizozo New Mexico. The site is now open to the general public twice yearly, on the first Saturday in April and October. Visitors have the chance to see historic photographs of the event, a small monument and a ranch house where the plutonium core for the bomb was assembled.
